World Street Photo Awards welcomes participants from all over the world. The competition is open to photographers of all skill levels and nationalities, both professional and amateur.
Participants who are under the age of 18 must have parental consent.
Yes, you may submit photographs that have previously won awards or been published, as long as you retain full copyright and the images comply with our submission guidelines. Photos currently entered in other ongoing competitions are also eligible.
Yes, you retain full ownership of your photographs. By submitting your work, you grant the World Street Photo Awards permission to use your images for promotional purposes – this includes showcasing winning entries on our website, sharing them on social media, and using them in other related promotional materials or press materials. Photographer credit will always be given alongside any displayed images. This approach is designed to maximize your exposure, visibility, and recognition.

We define Street Photography as photos that were taken in public space and showcase real authentic moments of life on the streets. Photos should be candid / unposed / not staged.
We welcome creative submissions; however, images must not contain offensive, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate content. By entering, you confirm that you have taken the photographs yourself and own the copyright to your images and that no third-party rights are being infringed. It is the participant’s responsibility to obtain any necessary permissions. Any claims made by third parties will be the sole responsibility of the entrant. World Street Photo Awards

As this is a photography competition – not a digital art contest – images created using artificial intelligence (AI) are not permitted and will be disqualified. However, the use of AI-powered editing tools (such as noise-reduction or masking in software like Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop) is allowed, as long as the image originates from a real photograph taken with a camera and is not AI-generated. World Street Photo Awards reserves the right to disqualify any entries that do not comply with these guidelines.
Yes, you can enter the same image in different categories if it fits the criteria for each category.
All submissions will be thoroughly evaluated by an international panel of distinguished judges, including renowned photographers and industry experts. Each image will be judged according to four main criteria: composition, creativity, originality, and technical excellence. Entries will be scored on a scale from 1 to 100 by each judge, with the final score representing the total of all individual scores. The entry with the highest overall score will be awarded first place.
In the rare case of a tie, the judges will engage in further deliberation to determine the winner based on overall impact and alignment with the competition’s core criteria.
To maintain fairness and objectivity, the judging process is entirely anonymous – photographers’ names remain hidden throughout, and judges do not have access to one another’s scores or comments. Judges are also strictly prohibited from participating in the competition themselves.
The winners will be announced on December 14th, 2025 on the World Street Photo Awards website and notified via email.
A total of €2,000 in prize money will be awarded across all categories.
Photographer of the Year
Receives €500 in prize money and the official “Photographer of the Year” trophy, shipped free of charge anywhere in the world.
